SEN Teaching Assistant Needed
One of the schools that I work on behalf of, which is located in Stonehouse, is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant for September onwards! The school is great and really focuses on ensuring children are provided equal opportunities and that they are supported throughout their learning journey. The school has a lovely outdoor space and is in a quiet location. It is relatively small in size, and so there is a great sense of community there!
The school is looking for someone to join them on a full time basis and this will be for the next academic year which will be starting September 1st. The role will be a general TA role Monday to Friday and the hours for this will be 8:30-3:30. The work will be for general class work so wouldn’t be 1:1 as such, but a few of the students at the school do have SEN and so it is likely that there will be this element to the role as well. The school doesn't require someone to have experience with this, they just need someone who is passionate and willing to put in effort into the role!
What will you be doing on a day to day basis?
- Supporting the classroom and ensuring students get help where this is needed.
- Ensuring the Teacher has help with the class, and that there is support there for the lesson plan
- Ensuring that students with SEN gain the extra support that they need and that they feel comfortable in their learning setting.
- Supervising students at break times and lunches.
The school’s values and ethos:
“At our school we aim to provide children with a happy, secure and interactive learning environment that is underpinned with a Christian ethos. We believe that all children have the right to be respected and have the responsibility to learn how to respect others.”
