Embalmer / Trainee [United Kingdom]


 

Embalmer (B.I.E qualified or equivalent) or ( Trainee Embalmer / FSO )

£25,000 - £35,000 depending on experience and qualification

40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

We’re looking for a passionate and caring embalmer to join our team at Porteous Family Funeral Directors. We are also happy to consider suitable candidates who feel they have the ability to train towards their B.I.E qualification. During embalming training, you will supplement your time assisting as a Funeral Service Operative, alternatively you may already work within the funeral profession or similar environment and wish to compliment your existing skills by becoming B.I.E qualified.

What you’ll do:

  • All embalming’s must be of the highest possible standard at all times.
  • Prepare the deceased and carry out practical physical assessments on a daily basis and record.
  • Support colleagues to understand the benefits of embalming.
  • Maintain high standards, detail, and accuracy in everything you do.
  • Keep the mortuary clean and sanitised in line with health & safety guidelines.
  • Organise all deceased removals coordinating with other team members.
  • Keep accurate stock controls records.

This role would suit someone who has:

  • BIE qualification or equivalent or would be willing to train towards qualification. Experience within the funeral profession desirable but other similar occupations would be considered for the trainee position.
  • a practical can-do attitude and flexible approach
  • a caring nature and emotional maturity
  • the ability to think on your feet and expertly prioritise your work.
  • an appreciation that you only get one chance to deliver a perfect final tribute.

Other requirements:

You must possess a full driving licence.
